Save the date #1: Exact star patterns/moon phase on the night of the wedding over NYC skyline! Save the date #2: Map of events for connecticut wedding
Save the date #3: (alternative to STD#2: made from a photo at the ceremony venue)just love the textures you get from letterpress :) post card sized save the dates!

A couple weddings are coming up this year and I got to put my letterpress education to use! Here are some save the dates I made for them. The first one is a wedding in a public park in NYC - the stars are exactly as you’ll see them on the night of the wedding as viewed from NYC :) There are a bunch of constellations in there for any astronomers out there. The second one was designed by the bride to show the map of events for her connecticut wedding. love the letterpress textures!

In his series of carefully composed black-and-white images that make up “La Famille”, the French photographer Alain Laboile has captured a sense of youthful freedom through the exploits of his six children.

Mr. Laboile publishes his photos in serial form, sharing them with the world from the user name “lab oil” on Flickr. They are simple, beautiful moments.

A sculptor by trade, Mr. Laboile bought a small digital camera to photograph his work in 2004. He became interested in macro photography and later began documenting the children: Four girls — Olyana, now 16; Luna, 14; Dune, 5; and Nil, 4 — and two boys — Merlin, 12, and Eliott, 18, a student who now lives in Bordeaux.

JESSICA ADAMCZYK, 19, STOMATOLOGY STUDENT, POLAND

JESSICA’S STYLE: I have this crush on dark colors. My mom has always been telling me that you can never go wrong with what is classy, timeless and black ! I’m never leaving my home without a pair of black flats and my black YSL jacket - they work with everything.

INSPIRATION: People. They are the greatest inpiration as long as we are unique. When it comes to my fashion icon it would be Chiara Ferragni from TheBlondeSalad. Travels are also very inspiring because it’s a great opportunity to meet new personalities and experience new things.

FASHION + STYLE: Yes, because you can be in fashion but have no style. It’s essential to remember about your personal taste and being creative in your own way. Copying and pretending someone else is overrated.

THE MOST STYLISH CITY IN THE WORLD: New York. That’s an obvious choice.

HOLIDAY WISH-LIST: The golden necklace with my name, similar to the one that Carrie Bradshaw had in SATC series. It’s been on my mind for a while…

WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR? I’m thankful for my family, my boyfriend and every single day that I can share and celebrate with them.

FALL FAVORITES: Fall is also the season of hard work at the University so would be definitely my Michael Kors Saffiano bag. It’s black so it won’t get dirty during rainfall and so big that I can carry all my things with me.

Photographer Imagines What World Cities Would Look Like Without Lights

French photographer Thierry Cohen wants to show you what the cities might look like if they went dark on a clear day, and if the photographer focused on bringing out the stars. His project Darkened Cities shows recognizable cityscapes in darkness under the night sky.

To create the images, Cohen first traveled to locations that are untainted by the light pollution of large urban areas, capturing beautiful night shots of the Milky Way floating overhead.

He then combined these photographs with manipulated photographs of various cities (e.g. San Francisco, New York City, Tokyo, Rio de Janerio) to complete the effect.

Frozen Bubbles Suspended Below Abraham Lake

Abraham Lake has become world famous, especially amongst photographers. The artificial lake, which lies in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, is home to a rare phenomenon where bubbles get frozen right underneath its surface. They’re often referred to as ice bubbles or frozen bubbles.

What causes this to happen? As photographer Fikret Onal explains, “The plants on the lake bed release methane gas and methane gets frozen once coming close enough to much colder lake surface and they keep stacking up below once the weather gets colder and colder during [the] winter season.”

Though a gorgeous sight, this incredible destination isn’t for the weak or the weary. “Even though I’ve walked on a frozen lake before, Abraham Lake made me feel completely uneasy since the lake was not covered with snow,” says Onal. “Even though the icy surface was around 8-9 inches thick, it still scared the hell out of me, not only because of the fact that I could see all the cracks…and the darkness of the lake bottom through the glassy surface, but also [because of] the deep boomy, cracking sounds coming from underneath the lake’s surface.”
